Curation

"In Venetia Higgins' captivating shows, we find echoes of medieval bestiaries and icons, reliquaries and ex-votos, references to the cosmos and folk art, tiny worlds of paper, ceramics, egg tempera, miniature oil painting, fragments from classical literature, wood engravings – a delicious array of tantalizing things" Rose Balston (Art Historian)

Outside of my art practice I curate large group shows, often bringing together folk or medieval inspired artists and makers who create an interesting tension between tradition and innovation.

I used to run the events at the Gallery at Green & Stone and have maintained a wonderful relationship with them since going freelance. As a result, my exhibitions tend to be located there, but I am always open to new venues.

Please view my latest exhibitions below.
