Details: At the heart of this assemblage lies the painted head of a dog, sitting watch amid fragments of medieval text. The surrounding script drawn from 14th and 16th century vellum pastedowns, carry the weight of centuries, words once spoken now reduced to whispering traces. 

Encasing them is timber salvaged from Runcton Holme farm barn in Norfolk, wood hewn in the late 16th century. Preserved as both structure and memory together these remnants converge into custos - the guardian, the sentinel - a figure both faithful and hungry, watching over fragments of a world long past.
